ISKCON (World Heritage Centre)

Mayapur, one of the nine islands of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s dham, Nabadwip, rests gracefully between the Hooghly and Jalangi rivers, around 130 km from Kolkata. It draws spiritual seekers from across the globe. The ISKCON Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple is celebrated as one of India’s most sacred sites. Founded by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, the complex houses the Pushpa Samadhi Mandir, where Srila Prabhupada was cremated, and the Temple of Vedic Planetarium, poised to become one of the largest of its kind.

Ballal Dhipi

Located near Bamanpukur Bazaar and Mayapur, Ballal Dhipi preserves the remnants of a vast historic complex uncovered by the Archaeological Survey of India. Its central mound, rising about 9 m, is thought to be part of an ancient Vihara linked to Vikramsila, serving as a centre of learning and pilgrimage between the 8th and 11th centuries.

Nabadwip

Renowned as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Nabadwip brims with spiritual significance, dotted with temples such as Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Sonar Gouranga Temple, and Dwadash Shiva Temple. The city comes alive during festivals like Rash Utsav in November and Dol Purnima in March.

Bethuadahari

This wildlife sanctuary in Nadia District, along NH‑34, offers scenic nature trails where visitors may encounter native wildlife, birds, and insects, making it ideal for nature enthusiasts and outdoor explorers.

Ghurni

Perched on the banks of the Jalangi River, Ghurni is celebrated for its clay dolls, especially Krishnanagar clay art. Local artisans craft these exquisite figures, which are admired worldwide, and numerous shops showcase their handmade creations.

Natungram

Around 57 km from Mayapur, Natungram is a traditional craft village where artisans hand-carve and paint wooden dolls. While retaining a rustic charm over modern polish, these creations carry deep ethnic and cultural heritage.
